Audrey VERNON Obituary
On 29 July 2023 peacefully at Malvina Major Retirement Village, Wellington, aged 91. Dearly loved wife of the late Peter. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Richard and Catherine, John and Alison, David and Paula. Grandma to Louise, James, Anna; Peter, Laura, Deanna; Emily, Elizabeth and Charlotte. Messages to the Vernon family may be left in Audrey's tribute book at www.tributes.co.nz. In lieu of flowers donations to the Wellington Free Ambulance would be appreciated and can be made at www.wfa.org.nz. A service to celebrate Audrey's life will be held at the Wellington Central Baptist Church, Boulcott Street, Wellington, on Friday 4 August 2023 at 11.00am, followed by a private cremation.

Audrey and Peter cared for my sister Michele and I as small children when my parents James and Nadine LaHatte had to arrange alternative care for the four children while my mother rested in her fifth pregnancy. I remember Audrey very well (I would have been about 9 years old) and she taught my sister and I how to knit. I remember her very kindly. Peter worked with my father in MED.
