Audrey Lily: C.N.Z.M.
Doctor of Science University of Otago. On 27th November 2022 having recently turned 97, Audrey peacefully passed away at Braeside Hospital, Birchleigh. Loved wife of the late Harold. Most precious mother and mother-in-law to Alison & Les, Paul & Wendy. Beloved and most special Oma and Grandma to Ferne, Lauren & Claire. Heartfelt thanks to the Staff at Birchleigh for their care of Audrey.

My late condolences to Alison and Paul. I grew up in Ngaruawahia and aunty Audrey (as I called her) lived next door from 1965 to 1971 and I spent aot of time at her large property with its vege garden and citrus trees. She used to take me to Sunday church school. Good times, good memories, I watched her painting sometimes,and I became an artist too. I have very fond memories of her and Allison and Paul, thankyou.

Audrey was a great friend to my mother, Pamela, from about 1959 or 1960. And a friend to our family. I can still hear her accent and visualise the family Hillman Husky and see the AERIE sign on the gate. An aerie is where eagles live.
