Audrey BINGHAM Obituary
BINGHAM, Audrey Edith:
Audrey passed away peacefully on Thursday 28 July 2022, aged 98 years. A kind and caring person who was a much-loved mother and mother-in-law to John, and David and Alouette – and loved wife of Nigel (deceased). She was also a considerate and generous grandma to her grandchildren Jess (Christchurch) and Sam (Melbourne). Sincere thanks to her friends Sue and Peter for their support and kindness over the years, and heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Cashmere Heights (and Home) for all their care and support for Audrey in recent years. A fiercely independent spirit, resourceful and determined yet so unassuming and reflective. Messages to the Bingham family may be left in Audrey's tribute book at www.tributes.co.nz or posted c/- 4 Moorefield Road, Johnsonville, Wellington. A service to celebrate the life of Audrey will be held at St Michael and All Angels Church, 196 Newlands Road, Newlands on Thursday 4 August at 10.00am, thereafter private cremation.

I remember meeting Audrey in Cubs Mall one day and we stopped to chat. She told me she had been to Newbolds to buy a washing machine but ended up buying a typewriter. She said she had done secretarial work so as we needed a secretary on vestry I encouraged her to think about offering to do it and she did.
There are lots of lovely " Audrey" moments but this one has stayed with me.
