Andrew WOODSIDE Obituary

WOODSIDE,
Andrew John (Andy):
Passed peacefully at home with his family on Tuesday, 19 January 2016, aged 33 years. We will remember Andy and his smile and courage as he lived with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis for 10 years. Andy is the loved younger son of Anne & Alan, and loved brother, brother-in-law, and uncle of Maria & Mark Cameron, Olivia and Jakob; Michael & Lauree Woodside, Dan, Jess and Liam; and younger sister, Ciara Woodside – he is sadly missed by them all. Friends are welcome to visit Andy at home. Please join the family in farewelling Andy at St Peter's Village Hall, Beach Road, Paekakariki, at 1.00pm on Saturday, 23 January. Andy would welcome your support for continuing research by donating to the Malaghan Institute, either through their website (www.malaghan.org.nz) or via the donation box available on Saturday. Andy's family especially thank Dr Brian Wesley-Smith, Mana Pharmacy, Liz Climo (OT), the Kapiti District Nurses, and staff of Mary Potter Hospice for their care, skill, and loving support.

My fondest thoughts are with you, Anne and Alan and your family, so very grateful a friend advised me of the very sad news of Andy's passing.
I often think of the very happy times I shared with Andy on The Lord Nelson, I shall never forget when he was in the party that was piped ashore in Nelson, everyone on the ship was so proud to have sailed with Andy and yourselves.
I'm returning to Wellington next month and will give you a call.
All my love,
Sam xxxx

I am so very sorry to hear this sad news. I, of course, do not know you all well, but the warmth, love and care that was so apparent in your home and household was palpable and very heart warming / touching.....and, of course, that gorgeous infectious smile of Andrew's was a lovely gift to have received. My thoughts are with you and I send you my very sincere condolences. Kia haha, awhi awhi awhi to you all.

Alan and Michael,
I wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you in your loss of Andy. It was years ago at a football match at Memorial Park that I last saw him. I admired the courage with which you all faced his illness.
