Andrew Frank (Dr):
Born 16 December 1940. Loving husband to the late Pauline passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Friday 9 October 2020. Andrew is survived by his five children and their partners: Doug & Al, Leanne & Matt, Rob & Debs, Jamie & Rach, Pete & Miriam, along with 16 grandchildren and loving companion Annette Thorn. Andrew's funeral will be held in Cornwall Manor, corner of Knights Road and Cornwall Street, Lower Hutt, at 11.30am on Thursday 15 October 2020. This will be followed by refreshments at another location which will be announced on the day. Special thanks to the amazing people at Te Omanga Hospice for the great support provided to the family in caring for dad at home.

The best anaesthetist I ever worked with anywhere worldwide... and our mail was often mixed up at Hutt Hospital in the 1970s.

I was privileged to have been able to work with Andrew during my time as a surgical registrar. He was legendary for his instinctive ability and for making the complex seem so simple.
He was an excellent and skilled anaesthetist, teacher and mentor to many but he was also a humble and kind man. I enjoyed our chats - he always had something to say and always tinged with his trademark humour.
Dr Cameron it was an honour.

A value colleague who held the Hutt Anaesthetic department together for much of its developing early days. He was an intelligent and instinctive doctor who influenced many young doctors in training. His clinical skills, especially in labour epidurals were legendary. He kept his home life very private but he was always very proud and happy to share his children's achievement- often with a wry, cheeky smile!
