Andelka VEGAR Obituary
On Thursday, 5 April 2018 peacefully at Te Hopai Hospital aged 90 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Ivan Vegar (Dec 1964). A devoted mother and "father" to Joe and Paul and loving mother-in-law of Drina and Terri. Loving Baba of Ana & Nick, Ivan, Viktor & Amy, Milan & Aleja, Anton & Ninia and Angelka & Dan. Youngest daughter of the late Mate & the late Kata Maji´c. Much loved sister of her 11 siblings and their families in Croatia. Much loved Teta (Aunty) to Monti, Stana and their families and Ujna (Aunty) to Mary and the late Andy and their families. Special thanks to Maria (her "daughter"), Jasmina, Sylvia and staff at Miranda Smith Healthcare and Te Hopai for their loving care of Baba. In lieu of flowers, donations to Te Hopai would be appreciated and may be left at the service or posted to 51 Hospital Road, Newtown, 6021. Requiem Mass will be celebrated in the Church of SS Peter & Paul, Knights Road, Lower Hutt, on Thursday, 12 April, 2018, at 11.00am followed by private cremation.

I am very sad to hear of Baba's passing, my beautiful aunty (Maria) loved Baba and considered her as whnau. I feel like I have been apart of Baba's journey through my Aunty's eyes. I have loved regularly hearing all the stories and adventures they shared together.

I am sad to hear of Andelka's passing and remember her with fondness and love. She was one of the few relations in New Zealand on my mother's side of the family. My condolences to Paul, Joe and families. Rest in peace my cousin.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time. For many years Ujna filled a huge void in our family, and we regarded her as our Matriarch. Her passing is the end of an era for us and she will be sadly missed and remembered with love. Pocivala u miru.
