I'm so sorry to hear that my old friend Andy Jina has passed away.
He was one of the nicest guys I ever met during my fruit and vegetable business days!! He was always friendly and had time for a chat at the produce markets. I remember him well being in charge of our Wellington Fruiterer Retailers Association AGMs. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him!!

To the Jina family , I will miss Andy Kaka , he had a way to make you feel special everytime you saw him .
He invited me to see his lovely home and was proud of his gardening masterpiece.
Going through his life album with the family business was a memory I will never forget ,the stories that were told the laughs we shared and the experiences the family went through to make their business such a success .

I admired how their family ran their business and adapted to the change of the vegetable business when supermarkets changed the environment.

His family vision got better and their business model got stronger , a true pioneer .

He would have helped many many people throughout his career , a true Pioneer will be missed .

From Sanjai Govind and Family ( lower Hutt )

I met Andy when working at my mothers house which backs onto the Jina family home. We had a number of conversations where Andy showed his passion for his fruit trees and asked if I would do a bit of pruning for him.
Luckily I bought all my tools with me as Andy had organised a number of jobs and we enjoyed a steady discussion solving the worlds problems.
Andy was a great teacher as he brought me up to speed with how the various trees should be pruned and I was frequently asked to do other maintenance jobs around the house. It was always a please to work with Andy, I say work with as it was difficult to stop Andy from exhausting himself helping. I will miss those great discussions where we both fixed everything wrong with the world.
