I knew Alan for a few years when I was involved with PNP. I remember him as such a lovely humble man who was so passionate about cycling. Was always good to see him at events and he was the person every sports club in NZ would love to have. Wherever he has gone I'm sure he'll find a cyclist to talk to. I was just thinking about him a few days ago as I put my PNP kit on

Such a lovely man with a passion for cycling and who gave so much to the sport. I remember when my husband had ended up in hospital after a major crash at a race. Alan called me a few days later to enquire how he was. I really appreciated that.
RIP Alan

Sad to hear of Alan's passing. Alan and Joan have been lifelong friends from our early days in New Plymouth to Papua New Guinea in the 1970s untilwell into our retirement years.
Alan was a friend and mentor for me during our long careers with Shell and inspiration to all he knew with his energy and enthusiasm. Now with Joan, Suzy, and Julie. RIP my friend.
