Such a beautiful service for Ailsa. I knew Ailsa through Zonta, a very special gracious lady. Lovely to see her family as she talked of you all so much. Thoughts are with you all. I know Ailsa will hold a special place in the heart of many.

So sad I was to hear that Ailsa had died.Such great memories I have of her and our Treadle Talk days. What fun we had with many a laugh. All those years ago Ailsa made us all a pin cushion-- of course mine has "R' x stitched by her fair hand .. Still in use today.----- I think of her each time I stick a pin in it !!!! precious memories in deed. My thoughts are with you all. I know you will miss her so much. Much love Rob

My thoughts are with you Bruce, and your family. I'm very grateful I saw you both so recently, after such a long time. Your only consolation is that her ordeal is over. She was definitely one of life's most beautiful and gracious people.

Dear Bruce and Family,

Tony and I have also known Ailsa for 64 years. It has been a wonderful friendship which we will miss very much. Tony and Bruce were friends at Primary School.

Our three children all grew up together with Greg, Debbie and Katherine until their high school days.

Bruce was best man at our wedding and Tony was best man at their wedding. We have been on family holidays together. Great memories which we will treasure. Colleen, Tony, Perry, Sonya and Erica

My condolences to her family I knew Ailsa as Miss Philips I was a student of hers at Tararua College in the 1960s my memories of her are few except she was an excellent teacher,I last saw her in Dannevirke in the early 1970s
I wished then that either of us had made the effort to speak to each other & most likely will wish forever that we had after reading this

I have an idea she was Miss Phillips, who was one of my teachers at Tararua College, Pahiatua, in the mid-60s.
I remember her as very nice; she wasn't much older than the kids she taught.
