Passing by typing up her name.
I met you both years ago through
Tricia Tichborne. Mum And I had
Some lovely times with you both
When we passed through Dunedin.

I meet Adrienne when Director of the NZ Academy of Fine Arts where she was an active member who submitted work for exhibition. We used to catch-up from time to time through the Wellington Art scene. I'm very sorry for Ian and the family's loss and send condolences from myself and John Conigrave.

Dear Adrianne, we are heartbroken you are no longer with us.
When we first met we knew instinctively that we could not get a better introduction to New Zealand and New Zealanders and now 20 years on we know we were right.
We will never forget our dinners in Dunedin´s restaurants, our first Christmas Day dinner in your company, endless coffees together, and that you always had time to meet us, after you moved to Wellington, during your regular trips to Dunedin.
Memories of your charm, sense of humour, friendship, warmth, brilliant and interesting, long conversations over coffee meetings, stories you told us about your huge overseas travels and cruises will stay with us forever.
RIP Adrianne, we are sure Tiger and Orb are waiting for You up there.
With all our love

Very sad to hear of Adrienne´s passing. Such a big loss. She was such a great example to us all: a great family person, devoted to her husband and children, a loving grandmother, step-mum, nana, sister, aunt, who cared deeply for her wider extended family, as well as her friends. And she was very inclusive and egalitarian in her friendships and relationships, as I know well through personal experience. My image of her - perhaps too subjectively - is that of a vibrant and sensitive explorer of places and peoples - right here at home. Yet I know also how much she enjoyed the travels and cruises that Ian organised for them, and she talked of them with appreciation and longing only some weeks ago. It´s difficult to conceive that one has lost forever that vibrant, living and breathing Adrienne. Yet one can only hope that . . . "Death is the quiet haven of us all." What remains are "Memories... images and precious thoughts that shall not die and cannot be destroyed".
