Alfred PAUL Obituary

Al passed away unexpectedly, with his wife Rosemary by his side, at Lanark Heights Long Term Care, on Saturday, April 30, 2022, in his 84th year.
Loving husband of Rosemary (nee Thiel) for nearly 59 years, proud father and father-in-law of Stephen (Edie), David (Penny Stevens), Dennis (Jami), and Maryanne Paul, cherished grandpa of Nikki (Brendan), Spencer, Alex (Mickayla), papa to Simon. Al will be remembered by his in-laws, Doug Thiel (Sue deceased), Carl Thiel (Beverley), Gord Thiel (Kirsten), Bruce Thiel (Sharon deceased), Donna, and Catherine Thiel. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Al was predeceased by his parents Hugo and Gertrude Paul, his only sister Irene Lahosky (Vic), and in-laws Gerald Thiel, Bert Thiel (Jessie), Donny Thiel (Lorraine), and infant Grant Thiel. After a successful career, Al enjoyed driving school bus. Children were drawn to his infectious laugh and zest for life. Al had a competitive spirit, but his main goal was to have fun: dancing, fishing, golfing (achieved a hole in one in Florida), any game of cards, board games, and cheering for the Toronto Blue Jays. Al was happiest spending time with his family and large circle of friends at the cottage or in Florida. Al's family will receive relatives and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. and on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. A Celebration of Al's life will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. A reception in the Funeral Home's Fireside Room will immediately follow.
