It was sad to read of Billie's passing but brought back so many great memories working with her back in the 70's. I was a young married Mum with two small ones and met Billie demonstrating Donaghy's Pates that were being exported and then introduced to the local market. A great product from a company famous for string & twine. Variants were venison, smoked eel, mussel & prawn. I ended up demonstrating with her. Then I was selling Dromorne Linen with Billie. We sold mainly in private homes, groups and social clubs this beautiful linen to young ones and brides to be for their trouseau. Billie was always fun and the centre of attraction. I recall a conference in Palmerston North when she chased the Chef back into his kitchen as he did not do something right! I remember when Billie and Lyndon moved to Cambourne and visiting them both. They just loved their dogs. Their family has certainly grown from those days and hoping this will bring you comfort knowing loved ones never really leave us, they live on in the hearts and minds of those who cared about them. My heartfelt thoughts go out to you all and apologies I am unable to attend Billie's farewell.
Hoping your memories will help you through each and every tomorrow, kindest regards, MELVA HOWARD
