Jean GAMBITSIS Obituary

GAMBITSIS,
Jean Vanessa (nee Grange):
Beloved wife of Leo of 60 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, after a long illness on 16 January 2018, aged 82. Loved mother, mother-in-law and Yiaya of Michael, Rose, Daniel and Nikolas; Tony, Gina, Gregory, Sophia and Angelos; Christina, Craig, Joshua and Emma. Sister of Bill, Anita, Helen, and the late Beryl, Ben and Marlene. Sister-in-law of Nicholas, Johnny, Thomas and Marjorie, Vicky (Greece), and Stella, and the late Maria, Magdalene, Annie and Cathie. Many thanks and appreciation to the doctors, nurses and caregivers for the very attentive care of Jean at Bob Scott Retirement Village. A Greek Orthodox Service will be conducted in the Wellington Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, Hania Street, Mount Victoria, Wellington, on Tuesday 23 January 2018, at 11.00am, followed by burial at Makara Cemetery. A celebration and tribute will be held in the Parthenon Hall (next door to the church), at 2.30pm, for an opportunity to remember and reflect on Jean's life. Regretfully the family at Jean and Leo's apartment are unable to accept visitors at this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Archdiocese of the Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated. Jean will be greatly missed.
