Dear Margaret and family,
It was with great sadness that I've only just heard of Ian's passing.
He was a much valued client of mine, when I worked at Pacesetter Holiday Shoppe in Tokoroa.
I remember him as a gentle giant, the absolute gentleman, the perfect client.
May you live with your memories.
With kind regards,
Gail Stables. (3 Roache Road, Opotiki.)

Dear Margaret and Family,
Fay and I send our greetings and condolences in your loss of Ian. Nothing will make up for the times when you feel bereft and alone, and you think .....' Oh I must tell Ian later ...' about some event or person you met that day!
I did not know him well but are acquainted with the wide humanitarian work and charity work you were both involved in. Strangely, both his parents and your parents figured greatly in my life as a young person, as well as Fay's too.
Fay also talks about good times with you and Marylyn in a Sunday School at Tenfoot, Orini.
It is a new era now, not an easy one, but be encouraged by the love and goodwill around you and enjoy the good memories of the life you have had together.
Warmly, in the bonds of Christian faith

Margaret,
Yuko and I are the fortunate ones getting to meet you both for the first time two years ago. The suddenness must have been a body blow. But the Lord is your sustainer.
The day Ian was called Home before us I was in hospital "fighting for my life" and the Lord said "Wait" when I thought He had said "Tonight you die."
Much glory goes to God through Ian's life which seemed too short to his loved ones which includes a host of ones like us and then the host of benighted souls who found the Lord Jesus also witness to Ian's labours which took him all over the world as well as just sitting milking cows.

To Margaret & family
I was very sorry to hear of Ian's sudden & unexpected death.
To me, he was always very gracious and supportive both as a patient and as a fellow Christian , also providing inspiration and encouragement in the local community such as a fellow trustee on the Forest View High school board of trustees. He will be sorely missed.
My deepest sympathy and prayers for you all

To the Elliot family; I Remember Ian as a gentle, encouraging man of God. He and Margaret were like surrogate parents to me as a young working girl living on the farm next door, and encouraged us in our christisn walk by a bible study small group in their house.
I am sorry to hear of his sudden death but know we will meet up in heaven.
Condolences to the family who are grieving Ians loss.
Much love,

Ian's presence at the Prison Fellowship Foro in Brazil (November 2017) was a great encouragement to all and especially to the Bolivian delegation. He patiently listened to our situation and committed to pray for us to find a way forward. We pray for you in your loss and give thanks for Ian's life and faith.
